Dr. Brittany Allen

Brittany Allen, PhD, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, received her graduate degree from the University of Houston in the area of Counseling Psychology. She received clinical training at Ben Taub’s NeuroPsychiatric Center, Baylor College of Medicine’s Department of Neurology, and the Michael DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Allen’s graduate clinical work focused on the assessment and treatment of age-related cognitive decline and chronic psychological illness, and she provided psychotherapy to adults primarily experiencing symptoms of Depression and Anxiety.

Dr. Allen’s clinical residency and post-doctoral training took place in the Houston Independent School District where she provided crisis intervention and evaluated students for disabilities which may affect educational performance, including Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Emotional Dysregulation Disorders. She has over 7 years of experience in school districts providing evaluation services and counseling to students with a broad range of presenting problems.

Currently, Dr. Allen specializes in the evaluation of pediatric learning, emotional, and behavior disorders including Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mood Dysregulation Disorders, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders. In addition, Dr. Allen assesses academic performance, provides recommendations for learning/intervention, and provides recommendations for school personnel to better design a child’s Section 504 services or Individualized Education Program (IEP).
