Dr. Abrahamson is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Houston’s APA-accredited School Psychology program. She also has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree in School Psychology from Columbia University. Dr. Abrahamson completed her APA-accredited internship with Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. She has experience working in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, and community clinics. Dr. Abrahamson specializes in evidence-based psychological assessment and treatment of disruptive behavior disorders, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism. Having worked as a school psychologist for several years, Dr. Abrahamson has extensive knowledge of laws and procedures for obtaining special education evaluations and services (e.g., IEPs, Section 504 accommodations). Dr Abrahamson has published research in the areas of anxiety in adolescents, weight control behaviors, parenting knowledge, and developmental assessment and outcomes of children born preterm. Dr. Abrahamson focuses on providing high quality, compassionate, and culturally competent care to her clients.
