Dr. Anitra Quinn

Trained as a school psychologist, Dr. Anitra Quinn completed her PhD at Mississippi State University (MSU). She also holds a Master of Science degree in School Psychology (MSU)  & a Master of Arts in Gerontology from the University of Louisiana, Monroe. With expertise in child psychopathology, stress-management, anger management , Autism Assessment & Treatment, psychological assessment and crisis intervention/suicide prevention, Dr. Quinn implements best practices through her work across a variety of platforms, from community mental health centers and nursing homes to public schools and universities. Dr. Quinn has established a legacy of clinical and academic excellence, with a host of National presentations to her credit and is an Amazon Bestselling Author. With a genuine heart for people and community, Dr. Quinn’s passion for positive change and her desire to see people live out their lives to the fullest is the driving force behind her service.

With a client-centered approach coupled with an emphasis on empirically sound strategies & interventions, Dr. Quinn employs best-practices to help clients reach their goals. Founding strategist behind the community/school initiative, Village Builders, Dr.,Quinn spearheaded efforts to establish school/community partnerships geared towards addressing challenges such as bullying. With a legacy of leading positive change that precedes her, Dr. Quinn was named the national “Difference Maker of the Year” by the Women in Need Foundation (WIN).

As an advocate of building healthy communities to strengthen families, Dr. Quinn has orchestrated numerous efforts from community health fairs, and family education programs to community-wide suicide and bullying prevention initiatives. Recognized for her outstanding community service, Dr. Quinn was awarded the Avis Van Ruthven Service Award, by the Mississippi State University School Psychology Department. An avid speaker, dedicated to empowering others with knowledge and know-how, Shelton-Quinn was named the State Spokesperson on Domestic Violence for the state of Mississippi by the WIN Foundation. Happily married to her best friend, Travis, the couple have two boys. When not serving GPS clients, Dr. Quinn can be found serving in ministry as a local Pastor alongside her husband or engaging in community service activities as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

In her spare time, Dr. Quinn enjoys spending time with her family, working out at the gym, writing, doing internet research, & having girl-time with her sorority sisters.

Dr. Quinn is a Provisionally Licensed Psychologist (#40040) under the supervision of Dr. Charles Hallmark and is in-network with Aetna and Cigna at this time.
